Christmas Make-A-Wish

In one of my social work classes a girl mentioned a family friend who's little boy has cancer (not sure what kind and what the circumstances are and I think he is 5 years old). His Make-A-Wish was to receive a Christmas card from everyone in the world, I was able to get his address and thought I would share! I will be sending him a card and while I'm in the hospital I will be recruiting more card senders! I was blessed to have my very own Make-A-Wish opportunity and it is an experience that I will never forget so I am proud to be a part of this and spread the word (and love!). What a precious wish for such a young boy! Please share this with all your friends and family, here is his name and address..... Noah Biorkman 3480 Petoskey Way Milford, MI 48380.... I think I have my exams under control but am to the point where I just want to get them over with! Just a few more days! Love always, Lauren

  1. Hi Lauren,

Sarah, Faith, and I will be sending a card his way. Please know that we pray daily for you and your mom and dad. We know that the Lord will hold you in His hands and guide the physicians. All our love!

  2. Lauren - I haven't seen you in years, but that doesn't mean I love you any less. Your mom and and dad are so dear to me. Did you know your mom forwarded your video of dancing to "Beat It?" No worries here - I loved it! It actually reminded me of your mom. You are the age now that we were when we were roommates at Baylor. Those were some great times and your mom's friendship provided me with some of my best memories.

I have been praying for you and I KNOW that God is at work. When I think of you, 2 Cor. 1:3-5 comes to my mind: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. What I see in you is that even though you have struggled, the Lord has been so faithful to bring comfort and in turn you are glorifying Him by comforting others with His mercy and compassion. I read it in this blog, I see it in your major and in the goals you have for the future. God is at work in your life.

I am praying for you, for your mom and your dad. I am grateful that you are doing this blog so that I can pray specifically in the days to come. You are loved!

  3. I hate to post this, but the plea for cards for Noah is sadly out of date. I had heard of something similar, and when I checked Snopes.com this entry came up: Apparently Noah is a real person, and the many cards he received were appreciated, but he passed away on this past November 23. Prayers for his parents and family would certainly continue to be appropriate.
